Building Out a Dental Practice | Grateful Dentists

Ten years ago, many dental office build-outs could be completed in the $100–$150 per square foot range. Today, depending on complexity, technology integration, and finishes, many projects are landing closer to $250–$400+ per square foot. Specialized operatories, advanced imaging, sterilization requirements, HVAC, plumbing, electrical upgrades, and custom cabinetry have dramatically increased the cost of building modern dental practices.

And yet, behind every successful dental office project is a team of hardworking local contractors, electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, framers, painters, flooring installers, and suppliers who make these spaces come to life.

At LADD Dental Group, we have seen firsthand how much dedication and craftsmanship goes into building and renovating healthcare spaces. These are not simple office projects — dental build-outs require precision, problem solving, coordination, and an incredible amount of technical expertise. Every operatory, every mechanical system, and every patient-facing detail matters.

We are especially grateful for our local contractors across Indiana who continue to show up, work hard, communicate honestly, and help us create beautiful spaces for the communities we serve. Even through supply chain challenges, labor shortages, inflation, and rapidly rising material costs, they continue to deliver outstanding work.

Relationships matter in construction just like they do in dentistry. The best projects happen when talented people work together with trust, transparency, and shared purpose.

Thank you to all of our local construction teams, tradesmen, project managers, and suppliers helping healthcare providers continue to grow and serve patients at a high level. Your work leaves a lasting impact on our communities every single day.

Dental Work | Importance of Routine Dental Care | Preventative Dental Care

Importance of Routine Dental Care  When I was in my 30s and a dentist told me I needed a few crowns , I decided to skip the expensive devices because of my meager paycheck. Besides, my teeth weren't hurting. Years later, I am paying the price in pain and costlier dental work . One of the damaged teeth that needed a crown distorted my bite, making a minor jaw-joint problem even worse. Unfortunately I'm far from alone. The price of dental care is steep for many people financially, physically and even socially, according to Marko Vujicic, chief economist and vice president of the Health Policy Institute at the American Dental Association. Vujicic said that the  majority of emergency room dental visits  were for infections that could be handled in a dentist's office. Overall, emergency room dental visits cost $1.9 billion yearly, 40 percent of which is public money, according to his institute's analysis of data from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quali...
