Wisdom Tooth Extraction | Avoiding Dry Sockets
Wisdom teeth extractions and dental surgeries are words that create a lot of anxiety and concern. In this video today, I want to discuss some of the tools that we have in our practices that are able to significantly improve our patients experience with wisdom teeth and dental extractions, as well as some helpful tips to avoid developing dry sockets post surgery.
In this video, Dr. Geiger is highlighting some of the patient benefits associated with oral conscious sedation. In particular the anxiety reducing properties of the medication and the improvement of the overall patient experience. Currently on our YouTube Channel, you can see me getting my wisdom tooth removed by Dr. Geiger. It is unfortunately a "YouTube Short" video format so I can't upload it to this blog. But with that being said, Dr. Geiger performed the dental surgery using nitrous oxide to help reduce my anxiety and improve my overall patient experience and I can't say enough positive things about my surgery! The procedure took about 30 minutes in total, and as you can see from my reaction, I couldn't even feel when my tooth was coming out. I also recording a YouTube Short video a couple days post surgery so that you guys could get an authentic review of my wisdom tooth extraction experience! Lastly, we are going to discuss a few ways to help avoid developing a dry socket post surgery. There are a number of factors at play that can cause the development of a dry socket, but keep these helpful tips in mind post surgery, as they can help immensely.
