  Dental Support Organizations | Good DSO's Vs. Bad DSO's  Like any profession or industry, there are good one's and there are bad one's. Dentistry and DSO's fall directly into this category. The DSO movement is in full force and there are a variety of factors driving this movement, but only the good DSO's are going to be around long enough to experience the benefits and synergizes. Poorly run or unethical DSO' are continuing to get exposed, and overall this is a great thing for dentistry and a positive for the DSO model at large. So far, a couple of bad apples have put a blemish on the DSO reputation, but as these unethical groups get run out of the profession, the positive and beneficial DSO's will continue to increase and thrive.  State Of The DSO Market | Top 5 Largest DSO's In The US  The Dental Support Organization movement is full steam ahead! In the videos below, we highlight the largest dental companies in the United States. Each of these DSO's are unique in how they are achieving their practice growth, but there is certainly no signs of the Dental Support Organization movement slowing down. *That being said, it is going to be interesting if the raising Interest Rates do affect the speed and dynamics of these current trends. Once of the negatives of some of these dental companies is the amount of debt they put on the balance sheet.   Dental Practice Valuation | EBITDA Vs. Percentage of Collections Dental practice valuations have evolved over the years. Historically dental practices were valuated on a percentage of collections basis, but the market has recently started going in a different direction. Because of industry trends, the market has moved to a valuation model that emphasizes profitability and efficiencies over gross revenue. The dental profession has never had this many headwinds hitting at one time, and because of these factors, there is now a premium paid for profitability. Of course, there are outliers and unique situations, but in general dental practice valuations have moved to an EBITDA valuation. In the DSO space, there are two types of buyers. There are strategic partners and there are financial partners.  A strategic partners
