Dr. James Hughes Retirement Letter To The Community:

Dear Valued Patients,

After 34 years of serving the Huntington and surrounding communities, it is with mixed emotions that I announce my retirement and partnership with LADD Dental Group and Dr. Kevin Deaykne. It has been an incredible journey, and I am deeply grateful for the trust and support you have shown me throughout the years.

I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude for allowing me to be a part of your lives and trusting me with your dental care. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you, and I am truly grateful for the relationships we have formed over the years.

As Lee Ann and I embark on this new chapter in our life, I am pleased to inform you that I have carefully chosen a successor who shares the same values of excellence and compassion that have guided our practice. I have had the privilege of knowing Dr. Deakyne for over twenty years, and he will be taking over my responsibilities moving forward.

Dr.Deakyne has lived and worked in the Warren/Huntington area for many years and is a huge pillar in the local community. He embodies exceptional qualifications and a genuine commitment to providing high-quality dental care.  His dedication to patient satisfaction will undoubtedly continue the legacy of outstanding service that has defined our practice.

I am confident that you will find Dr. Deakyne to be a skilled and caring dentist who will uphold the standards of excellence that you have come to expect from LADD Dental Group. He is eager to meet each of you and looks forward to building strong relationships with our valued patients. You will also continue to see friendly and familiar faces, as all three of our wonderful and compassionate hygienists are staying on through the transition!

My last official day seeing patients will be Thursday, June 27th. Ladd Dental Group is hosting a retirement party for me at the office, on Saturday, June 29th from 12-2pm, and I would love to see you there!

Sincerely,

Importance of Routine Dental Care  When I was in my 30s and a dentist told me I needed a few crowns , I decided to skip the expensive devices because of my meager paycheck. Besides, my teeth weren't hurting. Years later, I am paying the price in pain and costlier dental work . One of the damaged teeth that needed a crown distorted my bite, making a minor jaw-joint problem even worse. Unfortunately I'm far from alone. The price of dental care is steep for many people financially, physically and even socially, according to Marko Vujicic, chief economist and vice president of the Health Policy Institute at the American Dental Association. Vujicic said that the  majority of emergency room dental visits  were for infections that could be handled in a dentist's office.
