Wisdom Tooth Pain | Why Do My Wisdom Teeth Hurt

Wisdom Tooth Pain | Why Do My Wisdom Teeth Hurt

What Causes Wisdom Tooth Pain

There could be a number of factors that could cause wisdom tooth pain. One common reason is growing Pains: If your wisdom teeth are hurting, it could simply be them growing in. When they break through the gums it can cause pain, slight swelling and soreness. Another factor that could cause pain is decay or having a cavity.  Another very common indication is caused by a lack of space in the mouth. Wisdom teeth often grow in very close to neighboring teeth.  The normal process of tooth eruption can cause wisdom tooth pain. Just like all the other teethwisdom teeth need to push up through the gums in order to come in, which can cause occasional aches and soreness.

What Are Impacted Wisdom Teeth

Impacted wisdom teeth are third molars at the back of the mouth that don't have enough room to emerge or develop normally. Wisdom teeth are the last adult teeth to come into the mouth (erupt). Although wisdom teeth develop in most people, only a few experiences perfect wisdom teeth eruption. Impacted teeth mean that something is inhibiting the emergence of the teeth. The wisdom tooth may be caught in your jaw, beneath your gums, or develop wrongly. All impacted wisdom teeth do not need to be removed. If the impacted wisdom tooth is causing problems, then it will probably have to be removed, but not otherwise. An impacted wisdom tooth takes place when your wisdom teeth grow at an awkward angle, or if there is not enough room for them. Check out the video below of my wisdom tooth extraction procedure.

What Are Complete Bony Wisdom Teeth

A Complete Bony Impaction is when there is no space for the tooth to erupt. It remains embedded in the jaw bone or if even partially visible requires complex surgical techniques for removal. The impacted wisdom tooth may also be in an unusual position and difficult to remove. A Partial Bony Impaction is when the tooth has partially erupted, but a portion of the crown remains submerged below the gum and surrounding jawbone. Again, because it is difficult to keep the area clean, infection will commonly occur.

Dental Work | Importance of Routine Dental Care | Preventative Dental Care

Importance of Routine Dental Care  When I was in my 30s and a dentist told me I needed a few crowns , I decided to skip the expensive devices because of my meager paycheck. Besides, my teeth weren't hurting. Years later, I am paying the price in pain and costlier dental work . One of the damaged teeth that needed a crown distorted my bite, making a minor jaw-joint problem even worse. Unfortunately I'm far from alone. The price of dental care is steep for many people financially, physically and even socially, according to Marko Vujicic, chief economist and vice president of the Health Policy Institute at the American Dental Association. Vujicic said that the  majority of emergency room dental visits  were for infections that could be handled in a dentist's office. Overall, emergency room dental visits cost $1.9 billion yearly, 40 percent of which is public money, according to his institute's analysis of data from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quali...
