First Dental Appointment | New Dental Patient

First Dental Appointment | New Dental Patient

What does a new patient exam look like

Here is what a new patient exam looks like here at LADD Dental Group. At your comprehensive exam, we will take a full mouth series of x-rays and most likely take a pano x-ray as well. From there, our dentist are able to diagnose what treatment is needed and also diagnose what type of dental cleaning is needed. These appointments are great opportunities for patients to talk about their dental goals and to get them on the dental health track that they need. Check out our very own Dr. Curnutt reviewing some x-rays and coming up with a treatment plan for her dental patient.

As a young child, your new patient exam will be different. Depending on their age, x-rays may or may not be taken. Here is what an exam and dental cleaning looks like for a patient at the ages of 2-4 years old.

A dental emergency exam is a different story entirely. For those situations, normally only a few x-rays are taken and the area of concern is focused on and addressed. At LADD Dental Group, we see a lot of dental emergency patients, and here is what that looks like with us.

Whatever your reason for setting up your dental appointment, the team at LADD Dental Group is here to help. We have been proudly serving the North Central Indiana community for the past 45 years, and our experience and group practice philosophy truly sets up our patients for success, no matter what the dental situation may be. Dental Work | Importance of Routine Dental Care | Preventative Dental Care

Importance of Routine Dental Care  When I was in my 30s and a dentist told me I needed a few crowns , I decided to skip the expensive devices because of my meager paycheck. Besides, my teeth weren't hurting. Years later, I am paying the price in pain and costlier dental work . One of the damaged teeth that needed a crown distorted my bite, making a minor jaw-joint problem even worse. Unfortunately I'm far from alone. The price of dental care is steep for many people financially, physically and even socially, according to Marko Vujicic, chief economist and vice president of the Health Policy Institute at the American Dental Association. Vujicic said that the  majority of emergency room dental visits  were for infections that could be handled in a dentist's office. Overall, emergency room dental visits cost $1.9 billion yearly, 40 percent of which is public money, according to his institute's analysis of data from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quali...
