Celebrating Patient Care | Peanut Butter Pup Cup For The Win

At LADD Dental Group, we believe that exceptional patient care comes in many forms—and sometimes, it has four legs and a wagging tail.

Our beloved dental support dog, Anna, plays an incredibly important role in helping patients feel calm, safe, and cared for during their dental visits. Whether she’s sitting beside a nervous patient, offering a comforting presence during a procedure, or simply greeting someone with a gentle nuzzle, Anna has a special way of making dental anxiety melt away.

A Day in the Life of Anna

Anna’s “workday” is filled with meaningful moments. She instinctively knows when a patient needs a little extra reassurance and is always ready to step in with quiet companionship. For many of our patients—especially children or those with dental anxiety—Anna transforms what could be a stressful experience into something much more positive.

But just like any great team member, Anna deserves to be celebrated for her hard work.

The Sweetest Reward: Pup Cups!

After a full day of supporting patients and spreading comfort throughout the dental office, we love to treat Anna to one of her favorite rewards—a Pup Cup!

That little cup of whipped cream is more than just a tasty treat. It’s our way of saying “thank you” for the countless smiles she helps create and the calm she brings to our patients each day. The excitement in her eyes when she gets her Pup Cup says it all—she knows she’s done a great job.

Why It Matters

Celebrating Anna isn’t just about the treat—it’s about recognizing the powerful impact she has on our patients and our team. Therapy and support animals like Anna play a vital role in healthcare settings by:

  • Reducing anxiety and stress
  • Creating a more welcoming environment
  • Helping patients feel more at ease during procedures
  • Building positive associations with dental visits

Anna embodies everything we strive for at LADD Dental Group: compassion, connection, and care that goes beyond expectations.

A Well-Deserved Treat

At the end of the day, Anna isn’t just our dental support dog—she’s part of our family. And just like any valued team member, we believe in celebrating her contributions in a way that makes her happiest.

So the next time you see Anna in the office, know that behind that wagging tail is a hardworking teammate… who just might be looking forward to her next Pup Cup. 🐶

We’re grateful for everything she does—and we think she’s earned every single one.

2026 Dental Office Data | Struggling Performance Continues

Over the past decade, the dental industry experienced an unprecedented wave of consolidation. Private equity capital flowed into the profession, Dental Service Organizations (DSOs) expanded rapidly, and large multi-location platforms became a major force in the market. Recently, however, two major organizations— Dental Care Alliance and Affordable Care —have reportedly been taken over by their lenders following financial restructuring challenges. For many in the profession, this raises an important question: What does this mean for the future of dentistry ? The answer is nuanced, but it may signal a turning point for how dental organizations are built and financed going forward. The End of the “Growth at Any Cost” Era For many DSOs, the growth strategy of the past decade was simple: acquire as many practices as possible as quickly as possible. Low interest rates and strong investor appetite made this strategy viable. Debt financing allowed organizations to purchase pract...

Affordable Care Restructure | 2026 Dental Industry Impacts

The convergence of Affordable Care’s restructuring and broader financial strain across large DSOs is more than an isolated credit event — it’s a signal of structural pressure in the dental industry. Below is a strategic, operator-level view of the impacts likely to unfold. 1) Capital structure stress → Slower DSO expansion & recap cycles Affordable Care’s restructuring is largely debt-driven: The company is working with turnaround advisers after a $2.7B leveraged buyout left it with expensive floating-rate debt. Rising interest rates materially increased debt service costs. This dynamic is industry-wide: Many DSOs and small groups financed growth with variable debt that has jumped from ~4% to 10%+ interest costs. Some platforms have been unable to recapitalize amid economic uncertainty. Impacts Fewer aggressive roll-ups and de novo expansions Lower EBITDA multiples on acquisitions More minority recap deals vs. full exits Delayed liquidity e...
